How we use the details you give us.
Who we are
Stay by the Wye is a small holiday let in Hole-in-the-Wall, Ross-on-Wye. For privacy questions, email staybythewye@gmail.com or call 07474 146 499.
What we collect
When you enquire or book we keep your name, email, phone number, the cottage, dates, number of guests, whether a dog is coming, extras you asked for, and any message you send. If you pay by card, the payment is handled by Stripe — we see that a payment was made, not your full card number. Bank transfers show as a payment against your booking reference. If you join the mailing list, that is run by Mailchimp and follows their own notice.
How we use it
We use your details to take and confirm the booking, send arrival notes and the lock-box code, talk to you about the stay, and keep a simple diary. That is so we can perform the contract with you. We also keep a light count of page visits (not your name) so we know which pages are useful. We do not sell your details, and we do not send marketing unless you have joined the mailing list.
Who we share it with
Only what is needed: Stripe for card payments, our email provider to send confirmations and arrival notes, and WhatsApp if you message us there. The mailing list is Mailchimp, and only if you subscribe. We do not pass your details to Airbnb, Booking.com or anyone else for marketing.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept for the stay and for a sensible period afterwards for accounts and any follow-up (for example a forgotten belonging). Enquiry messages we no longer need are deleted. Page-visit counts are anonymous and kept only as totals.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we have no good reason to keep it. Email staybythewye@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.
Cookies and this website
This site uses a small amount of storage in your browser so the booking form and the host diary work, and so we do not count the same visit twice. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.
